This summer the Bilay House Orphanage in Ta Ko Lang, Thailand was expanded with the purchase of an adjacent 1650 square meter parcel of land. The property has a building that will be used for the new AHAN Bilay House Heritage Center; a center where traditional Karen tribe weaving and other crafts will be produced. It will be a place of learning for the children of Bilay House to learn these skills and to preserve their traditional heritage. It will also be a place of sharing and communication between the elders of the Karen tribe and this newest generation. It is planned that the crafts produced here can be offered for sale through AHAN with all proceeds used for Bilay House and the new Heritage Center operations.
